IGVP at the Plasma Physics DPG Spring Meeting in Greifswald

March 4, 2024

7 researchers from the IGVP participated at the spring meeting of the division plasma physics of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft e. V. (DPG) in Greifswald

Last week, the spring meeting of the division plasma physics of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft e. V. (DPG) took place in Greifswald. Especially for young scientist, the spring meeting provides the opportunity to join the community in their subject area and to defend for the first time their research in front of national and international audience. Participants from IGVP enjoyed oral presentations in plasma science, daily poster sessions and the plenary and invited talks given by senior researchers.

From the IGVP of the University of Stuttgart, a group of seven participated:

  • Christos Vagkidis with a poster presenations about a novel microwave interferometry diagnostics approach
  • Ralph Sarkis with a poster presentation about the interplay of particle and momentum transport in magnetically confined plasmas
  • Marc Bresser with a poster presentation on plasma based methods to synthesize hydrocarbons
  • Alf Köhn-Seemann with a poster presentation about a new DFG-funded project dealing with Helicon heating of plasma Wakefield accelerators
  • Nicolas Dumerat with a talk about the causal coupling between density and potential fluctuation during zonal flow events in magnetically confined plasmas
  • Katharina Wiegers with a talk about a plasma based technique to separate oxygen after splitting up CO2
  • Stefan Merli with a talk about modeling plasma torches to convert CO2 into CO and O2
