Last week, the IGVP organized and hosted the FuseNet PhD Event 2024. 130 PhD students from all across Europe working in the wide field of fusion research came to Stuttgart to meet, get to know each other, and discuss their research. Diversity was the motto of this year, reflected not only in the participants itself but also in the list of keynote speakers, inspiring and triggering discussions. With either a Pecha Kucha talk or a poster presentation (or in some cases both) the students presented their own research projects in partly very original ways. A hike across Stuttgart’s vineyards accompanied by a wine tasting organized by the Vintage Winery and an after-conference-drink at the CampusBeach provided enough room for discussions, networking, and mingling.
