The Russian war against Ukraine has been going on for more than 1 year. To show the Ukrainian students that they are not forgotten and to give them an opportunity to live something like a daily study routine despite the adverse circumstances, the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics together with the National Karasin University Kharkiv is organizing a lecture series on magnetic confinement fusion with a focus on the stellarator concept. The stellarator is a variant of a magnetic field cage with which a fusion plasma is confined. Since the early days of fusion research, the stellarator has been studied theoretically and experimentally in Kharkiv. The lecture series, entitled "Kharkiv Lectures", will be given by experts from all over the world, including the Institute of Interfacial Process Engineering & Plasma Technology IGVP from the University of Stuttgart.

Registration is open to students from around the world until May 20 and a limited number of places are still available: https://event.ipp-hgw.mpg.de/event/670/
